Congresswoman Katharine Clark Honors Natick Students

Natick’s Congresswoman Katharine Clark and her Framingham Office staff visited our students in Natick to offer them official citations of merit for writing the essays they shared at the interfaith Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration last Monday.  The essay winners, 8th graders Shayna Deltano (KMS), Emma Koskovich and Madeline Wise (WMS) and NHS Junior, Lorraine Williams all read their essays for the Congresswoman and key members of the SPARK board, the Natick Together for Youth Board, various substance abuse and support coalitions and principals and administrators from the Natick Schools.

Congresswoman Clark lauded the Natick community for the strong grass-roots inter-agency and school collaboration and noted that her office is working on similar issues including supporting those recovering from substance abuse, those who have lost loved ones to opiate addiction, mental health outreach and anti-bullying efforts.

SPARK president and founder, Christine Guthery, spoke of the organizations founding and history and how the group has grown and expanded.
